$175.00

Description

By French Designer Vincent Poujardieu, this decanter is a formal tribute to the iconic Russian Sputnik satellite, which launched the space age. It features a unique curved glass body, originally blown as a prototype in the traditional glassworks of Bègles.

Its specific shape is dual-purpose: the lower portion holds the wine, while the upper chamber is designed for optimal aeration.

This specific design is significant enough to be featured in the collections of institutions like the Museum of Decorative Arts and Design.

From the artist himself:

“The Janina Decanters were produced in 2011. One thousand pieces. Some chateaux in the Gironde region displayed and sold them, as did the Cite’ du Vin and in Paris, SILVERA in 2012 during an exhibition.I currently have about 30 left”

Very good original condition with very minimal wear.
