A classic mid-century buffet server from Heywood Wakefield of Gardner, Massachusetts, produced in the early 1950s (1952-54) by one of the most collectible American furniture makers of the era.
Model M592 has three center drawers with sculpted drawer length pulls, flanked by two cabinet doors with signature square cut-out handles. Each cabinet has two adjustable shelves. Outer cabinet features rounded corners and a low plinth base. It works as a dining room buffet, an entryway or living room console, or a media or bedroom storage piece.
In restored condition and in a more natural golden tone. Because wood grain varies from board to board, you may see some variation in color from one spot to another, and a few areas may look slightly lighter, darker, or discolored. That’s the natural character of the wood, not damage. We don’t stain to force an even color, because we prefer to preserve the piece’s original look. Photos show the finish as accurately as we can capture it, but color can look a little different in person depending on lighting. Doors and drawers work well. Some minor cosmetic marks inside of drawers.
