Often attributed to Arthur Umanoff this chair was manufactured by Los Angeles based Company Calif-Asia.
The chair features a sculptural, curved shell made from woven rattan and bamboo, supported by a splayed black iron or wrought iron base.
It embodies the “California Modern” or “Boho Chic” Style. 1960s Vintage.
Calif-Asia was a major importer founded by Bessie Abbott Ochs that sourced its high-quality rattan furniture from agencies in Southeast Asia, including Hong Kong and the Philippines. (partial tag present on bottom of chair)
IN good vintage condition, sturdy with just some minor breaks in rattan.
